This year's Winter Food fair took place on Saturday the 12th of August at Roselea Community Centre, Beecroft. It was the first main event being prepared by the newly incoming LBYG team, where the old team still shadowed where necessary.
Preparations for such an anticipated event in the LBYG calendar year began early in the morning, with the members setting up the stall and gathering the curries and egg rotti.

Our stall involved the sale of fried Egg Rottis alongside a selection of 4 curries including
- Chicken Curry
- Dhal Curry
- Ala Thel Dala
- Lunnu Thel Dala

A noteworthy addition to the Egg Rotti stall this Food Fair, by the new incoming team, was introduction of a digital POS system for every order being prepared. This was made possible with the use of an Ipad with an 3rd party application that synced up the order being put through the Square Terminal. This benefited the team in having a convenient, live display of the orders as well as a history of any lost orders.

The curries were all generously prepared and donated by the devotees of the Lankarama and Sri Lankan community.
By midday the LBYG stall was full speed ahead, members tirelessly frying rotties for the many many customers waiting in line.

On top of having our usual Rotti stall, this year we had a Faluda, tattoo and henna stall as an additional initiative to gain funds for the LBYG School project. The supplies for this stall were all kindly donated by members from our team as well as the Henna art being done by some of our very talented members.

Above all, the LBYG held a spectacle Winter Food Fair in 2023, with everyone's collective effort to help out at our stalls, we managed to collect over $3500 in donations and with over $150 going towards our school project. This event showcases a great start for the incoming team going into the new term.
