Hello, members and friends!

Here's the latest on what LBYG is celebrating this week and our upcoming Picnic Day!

Harmony Week

The 21st of March marks the beginning of Harmony Week. It's noted as a time to celebrate Australian multiculturalism and the the integration of numerous cultures into the community.

Harmony Week is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of their linguistic or cultural background.

The colour orange is chosen to represent Harmony Week as it traditionally signifies meaningful conversations and multi-ethnic communication.

You'll find below a few interesting info-graphics detailing the extent of multiculturalism in Australia. It's fascinating to see it outlined as it is in the pictures because they can remind you of how well integrated people and groups from different backgrounds are in society. They can mesh so well with each other that it's widely perceived as the norm.

Harmony Week finishes on the 27th of March. You can find out more about Harmony Week and its vision via the below link.
