Movember is an annual event hosted by the Movember Foundation, with the goal of funding groundbreaking projects and engaging men’s health experts all over the world, all with the purpose of fundamentally changing the way men in need are treated and supported.

In efforts to support this cause and help generate further awareness, LBYG members participated as a team in ‘Move for Movember’, where each member walked and/or ran 60km or more in November for the 60 men we lose to suicide every hour.

Feel free to check out our 'Mo Space' using the link below, and please feel free to suggest any other charitable activities in which the LBYG could participate. Also keep an eye out here and on our social media channels for updates and info on how you can join :)

Vesak Display Workshops

We are excited to announce the team are using the story of Prince Siddhartha and the Swan as the basis for the 2022 Vesak Lantern Display!

Over the next few months, we will be holding several workshops to create the display. This will include creating a main display, constructing Vesak Kudu (lanterns), and lots of other fun decorations. There will be something for everyone, so please come join us!

Our first workshop was held on the 5th of December 2021, with many members attending throughout the session and making valuable contributions; These have led to us getting an awesome head start with planning our display! Some photos from this workshop have been provided directly below.

Our next workshop will be held on the 18th of December 2021, from 10:00 to 14:00.

Please feel free to welcome any friends or family who may also be interested. All workshops will be held according to COVID-19 and Social Distancing guidelines, as necessary.

Sacred Space

Sacred Space is a recurring event, where attendees are encouraged to reflect on Buddhist concepts and share their experiences, thoughts, and sources of inspiration, including poetry, writing, and art.

The first session, held on 31st October 2021, covered the topic of 'Making Room for Stillness', with over 15 attendees actively participating in the discussion.

Our next session, scheduled to be held on 16th December 2021, will cover Dana (Generosity). While the first session of Sacred Space was held on Zoom, this will be held on premises at the Lankarama Temple in Tallawong. Tickets can be purchased using the link provided below!
