Happy New Year, everybody!

I hope you're all enjoying a wonderful start to 2022!

Welcome to our first update for the year. Read on to find out what's happening at the LBYG.

COVID Update

The LBYG Executive Committee is currently reviewing how events can be hosted while ensuring the safety of its members and the wider community.

In the meantime, all members are required to check in and wear masks at all events unless otherwise specified.

Additionally, most events will be held online unless the lack of physical attendance is seen as detrimental to the overall experience of the event.

Footprints Magazine

‘Footprints’ is a magazine published by the Lankarama Buddhist Youth Group (LBYG), distributed with the aim to edify readers on a variety of Buddhist concepts. Each submission, from either a members of the LBYG or the wider community, makes a valuable contribution by broadening our collective knowledge base with each input.

We're excited to announce Footprints submissions will now be published on an ongoing basis, with a compilation of these being distributed around Vesak later this year.

We warmly welcome anyone to contribute to our online library. Submissions can be articles or creative pieces, including stories, poems, puzzles, illustrations, and/or collages.

We'll provide details on how to submit shortly.

For reference, you can view previous contributions here.

Retreat

We are excited to invite you to join us at our upcoming retreat! This event will provide attendees with the opportunity to participate in group discussion overseen by subject matter experts, so they may gain greater insight into Buddhist concepts.

Details are listed below.

Date and Time: 12 February 2022, 09:00 - 16:00
Address: Santi Forest Monastery, 100 Coalmines Road, Bundanoon NSW 2578

If you're an LBYG member, please make sure to wear your group shirt :)

That's all for this update. On behalf of the LBYG, I wish you all the best for this year!
