The Abhayagiri Dagoba belongs to the monastery of Abhayagiri Viharaya in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. When I visited Anuradhapura back in 2018, I was in awe of how visually unique the ancient stupa was. The deep burnt orange hue stood out from its surrounding lush greenery, and I was inspired to depict this through a painting. I admire how art preserves our history and is a way to practice mindfulness and self-awareness. The Abhayagiri Dagoba holds particular significance as the top portions of the original stupa is a remnant of what it would have looked like thousands of years ago.
